The Crystal Lakes Fishing Board is excited to announce an ONLINE OPTION for Daily Guest Fishing Passes! Here’s how it works:

First, the guest needs written permission and contact info from a CL owner in good standing (with 2022-23 dues paid). The written permission must be printed or downloaded onto their cell phone and carried with them at all times.

Next, the purchase is made online. Only daily passes are available online, and just like the yellow sticky passes, they’re valid for one named person on one specific day. Buy any time before starting to fish, even on the same day! In fact, advance purchases are strongly discouraged because there are no changes or refunds.

Finally—and this is important—the guest must download the ticket on their phone. Printing is ok too. Each guest needs ready access to it, and we all know how spotty cell service is up here!

When security comes around, the guest just takes out their phone or printouts to show 1) the permission form/letter, 2) the downloaded ticket, and 3) Photo ID for anyone 16 and older.

Be forewarned: If the property owner isn't in good standing or the guest can’t quickly produce both documents and photo ID for adults, the pass will be invalid. Then you’ll get a citation, your guest will have to stop fishing, all their fish will be confiscated, and well… it’s enough to dampen everyone’s day! So really—have your guest download those documents before they start to fish!

Online passes cost a little more because there are credit card and processing fees. But we think the convenience is going to be well worth it, especially for last minute purchases and when the office is closed. Of course, you can still buy passes in the office during regular hours, just the same as always!
