Fire Pit Regulations in Crystal Lakes

Crystal Lakes is located in a high-risk wildland fire area, making fire safety a top priority for our community. To protect our forests, homes, and wildlife, all fire pits on private properties must meet strict construction and usage regulations. These rules are designed to minimize fire hazards while still allowing property owners to safely enjoy outdoor fires. Compliance with these regulations is mandatory, and unauthorized fire pits are strictly prohibited. Please review the guidelines below to ensure your fire pit is built and maintained in accordance with CLRRA’s fire safety standards.

Many Crystal Lakes property owners enjoy open fires (campfires) for recreation and cooking. To ensure safety in our wildfire-prone area, the Fire Pit Inspection Committee—comprising CLRRA Board members and property owners—has established guidelines for the safe construction and use of fire pits. These specifications are designed to be achievable for all property owners with minimal cost and effort while enhancing fire safety.
