How It Works

Collected slash and logs are gathered into a mass pile and burned on-site during winter, under the supervision of Larimer County, the Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, and the Red Feather Lakes Volunteer Fire Department when conditions permit.

Who Can Use the Slash Depot?

• Crystal Lakes Property Owners: Must provide their Filing and Lot number. Membership badges are the recommended form of ID.
• Public Access: Open to non-members at a higher disposal fee.

Accepted Materials

✔️ Clean slash and logs up to 6 inches in diameter (any length)
✔️ Pine needles (must be free of dirt)

Prohibited Items

❌ Stumps
❌ Logs over 6 inches in diameter
❌ Building materials, rocks, metal, or household trash

Contractor Dumping

Property owners who wish to have a contractor haul slash must contact the CLRRA Office at (970) 881-2250 and provide:

• Contractor's name
• Date of slash hauling
• Filing & Lot number
• Property owner’s name
• Number of loads

The contractor must be pre-approved for the specific date. Either the contractor or the property owner (if present) must pay the dumping fee before unloading.

Illegal Dumping & Penalties

Unauthorized dumping is strictly prohibited and subject to fines as outlined in CLRRA policies. CLRRA reserves the right to revoke dumping privileges for violations.

Fees & Payment

💲 Crystal Lakes Property Owners: $5.00 per cubic yard
💲 General Public: $12.00 per cubic yard

🔹 Fees are based on cubic yardage, as measured by an on-site CLRRA employee.
🔹 Payment methods: Debit card, credit card (3% processing fee), or check. No cash accepted.
🔹 Payment must be made in full before unloading.

Hours of Operation

🕙 Fridays: 10 AM – 2 PM
🕙 Saturdays & Sundays: 10 AM – 4 PM

Safety Notice – Secure Your Load!

🚛 It’s the Law! All loads must be properly secured and covered to prevent debris from falling onto roadways. Unsecured loads pose serious hazards to traffic and may result in accidents. Any unsecured load will be charged double.
